Yahoo says one billion user accounts affected in another breach of its systems
Yahoo have also said they believe it is a distinct and separate attack to the one they disclosed back in September.
Now, once you have done all the usual things like changing your password, etc. may you also be considering moving your account elsewhere?
This has got to be a big blow for Yahoo.
How many users did Yahoo even have at the height of its time? 1 billion must be close to all accounts there are, right?

I know people that still use Yahoo, but thankfully I am not one of them.
I wouldn’t be surprised if 1 billion was all of their users. I mean, let’s put it into context. 1 billion is 1 7th of the world’s population, so that is an awfully big chunk of people affected.

Alan Stainer, definitely, now would be the time to leave that sinking ship. Not only did they manage to get their user’s data stolen twice, it also took them three years to notice it.
Considering how lazy many people are with their passwords and other personal data, I’m sure the data stolen there could be used to get into many other accounts as well.

The damage may already be done, as the information is out there. Even if only a fraction of account holders used the same information elsewhere, that’s a lot of potentially compromised accounts on other services.
