Hinkley: What changed (nothing) and what happens next
Even though the UK government has given the go ahead for Hinkley Point C, there are still a lot of obstacles in the way.
Now to give you some sort of anecdotal evidence as to how unpopular this nuclear project is, everyone (literally) that I have spoken to, even those that are sceptical about climate change and all the rest, everyone thinks the plan to build Hinkley Point C is barking mad.

She +David Major you are shit loading your ignorance. Your brain is in your your butt, and you shouldn’t speak of something that you are not knowledgeable about. You need to get educated. Darkness is shading your light. Renewable energy is the way to go. Sunshine states like Arizona, should produce lots of solar energy.
David Major says
George Boothe There is very little empirical evidence to support the pro solar power nonsense. http://thebulletin.org/myth-renewable-energy
Felix Watts says
David Major there is very little empirical evidence for what claim exactly?
The objections to Hickley C are manifold and are not even primarily environmental concerns. The main objections are to do with economics, politics and safety.
David Major says
Felix Watts Well among many other false assertions from the “environmentalists” the claim that solar energy is more “environmentally friendly” and somehow “renewable.” This link does a great job of discussing the “renewable” aspect:

Carl Page says
The only truly renewable energy is a breeder reactor.
Felix Watts says
Carl Page what is your definition of truly renewable?
