Windows 10 Anniversary Update…
Or as I like to call it, Windows 11. It’s a huge update and apparently it is not working out for many people.
Come on Microsoft, you really can do better than this. Your customers do not deserve the treatment they are getting.

Didn’t work for me on a Microsoft Surface 2Pro … Yep, Microsofts own hardware.
Oddly enough it tried again today, this time it did the usual mega download, 15 minutes of preboot “Updating x%” .. then booted straight into 1607 without the usual paint dry 0-100% with umpteen reboots in-between.
Either way, it’s now finally running 1607, nothing else broken as yet.. apart from I can see they haven’t fixed the annoying Surface “can’t connect to wireless” problem, and then what feels like hours of “shutting down” .. before it can reinitialise the wireless drivers and actually connect.
Any other rig and they could get away with “The hardware vendors …” but this is a Microsoft Surface ! You’d think they’d have checked it out up front.

I wish it was qwarlock Z , for home users it certainly is, but in any large organisation where you’ve eons worth of investment in development on a Windows platform, it’s not going to change any time soon.
Of course, a faster route would be to virtualise the Windows desktop and detach it from the client side, but few organisations (especially mine .. the NHS) have the resources or inclination to do it.
I’d always argued for a Chromebook future, which of course is Linux enabled.. that will force developers hands to ensure its web only. Could you imagine, hardly any client side calls to your ICT helpdesk ??
Ahh heaven (well, almost ..)

Funeral anniversary
Since microsoft losed my respect and died as a company
Now i can’t have an up-to-date windows 7 without the risk of getting the “10 plague”

I wish we had stayed with batch file menu’s…..Not as “pretty” … but small, sleek and super fast, and it was fun. So wasn’t the ability to hands on most on the DOS – CP/M OS – the later I still believe MS hijacked. Stead, what has taken place::::: control freaks have invaded our cpu’s / bios and hard drives
