Windows 10 Upgrade is now ‘recommended’

Windows 10 Upgrade is now ‘recommended’

Bad Microsoft!

This means if you have automatic updates on your Windows 7 or 8 PC, it will automatically download and start installing Windows 10.

You do have the option to cancel the upgrade. However, people are likely to simply click Ok and then wonder why their computer is doing silly things and they cannot get on with their work.

Nothing to worry about, Alan Stainer – I was the first to bitch about #WIN10 , but now that it’s ironed out the creases, it rocks.

I dread going to my laptop, which runs 8.1. Looks like I’m gonna get the update there, too. Awesome!

My hardware is not compatible with Win10, yet it keeps trying, and failing, to update. Wish I could just tell it not to, but everything I’ve tried to do, short of air-gapping the machine, fails to prevent the attempts. Microsoft fail!

Matthew Wright that’s the problem I have on one of my machines. Get Windows 10 says it will work. The manufacturer says it will work. Does it work? No. Therefore automatic updates are off.
