When good software turns bad
In this issue of Sussex Local I am calling out a well known security software company that has really gone downhill and in my opinion should be avoided like the plague.

Agreed – Avast buying Piriform was a really, really bad idea.

I Remember switching to both when they first came out.
They were fast, lightweight, effective.
Then they started to bloat.
And bloated again.
And started eating resources.
I’ve seen cases where Avast will slow a low-spec Win 8 machine to a 5 minute boot (from a 1.5) (not boot scans etc. – just really shoddy hogging on load).
The problem is – the vast majority of them go this way :(

Lyndon NA Sad, but very true. Do you think they might be motivated by greed?
