    They’ve been trying since Redhat Linux like decades ago but majority is still afraid of change. They want change but they not willing to do it. How that works, beats me.

    Sad, but true Noor M Yus Also it doesn’t help that Windows is pretty much the only thing available when you go to buy a new PC or laptop.

    Alan Stainer I read somewhere that if a manufacturer wants to pre-install Windows on its new PCs, they enter an agreement with MS that they have to install it on EVERY new PC.

    Michael Mossman Ouch. If that is true I surprised the regulators haven’t stepped in. Also it’s worth noting that Dell do sell both Windows and Linux versions of their machines.
