Windows Defender to start removing ‘optimizer’ scareware
About time too!
Even some of the more well known brands have got in on the act (I am looking at the likes of AVG, Avast, McAfee and the like). From my experience these programs do nothing to actually help and can quite happily break your system, or at the very least add to the resource load on your machine and slow it down.
