How is this surprising? They’ve been making this up as they went along since they were caught by surprise that their little referendum which campaign was all a bunch of lies backfired on them when the Leave vote won

I don’t want a second referendum. I just want these twits out of government, so someone else can step in and just cancel the stupid Brexit omnishambles.

It’s actually not possible to forecast, to any degree of acceptable accuracy, on complex outcomes that have yet to be established, even in one sector, let alone umpteen. So any attempt to do so is futile. You only have to look at the immediate economic impact paper on a vote to leave, published by the treasury before the referendum, to see what a waste of time they are.

Nicholas Berry I think most people will be wondering where this ‘excrutiating detail’ David Davis was talking about has got to. Without forecasts and assessments how can anyone even contemplate making a plan? To simply say that forecasts are inaccurate or futile is frankly a cop out, because the alternative (nothing) is even worse.

I could fish out lots more that would negate the reasons behind your wish to reverse the referendum vote last year. Leaving the EU, the customs union and single market, even trading on WTO terms, recently cited by the WTO director general as not being a problem, is actually a plan and, going by the above as an example, the better plan.
No doubt you can fish out forecasts and assessments that bolster your views and therefore mark your plan out as the better plan.

Nicholas Berry this isn’t about me and it certainly isn’t about you. This is about the mind boggling ineptitude of the people that are supposed to be handling Brexit.
Let’s make this clear. If they can’t be bothered to do impact assessments because it’s hard, then they should never have entertained the idea of Brexit in the first place.

You have BREXIT, and we have Trump. Will you trade? If not, will you at least take us back?
