Robert Köppl yes, true, but then you have to string all those lines or place electrified tracks. I have ridden the bullet trains in China. I am a big fan. I would like to see the proliferation of cleaning up diesel/electric to make the diesel side more sustainable. I think it is not too far off.

I approve of the technology and the use of old stock as a concept and test bed.
I do not under any circumstances, want this old crap released into the wild. We need new stock in the UK, not refurbished cast offs.
Put the technology into fresh, new units and I’ll give it my blessing, but not like this.
