Why tolerate Tarmac-geddon in the countryside?
I happen to agree with everything written in this article. A month or so back, before the council voted on their preferred option, I was approached by one of the campaigners for option 5a.
She had the audacity to tell me that it was the only option that made sense and seemed to be completely clueless about the actual impact it would have. She was more concerned about the economic benefits than anything else, which I personally think is rather delusional in itself.
She was also completely oblivious to the changes in technology that are fast approaching (very fast) that would mitigate a lot of the problems. Oh and I don’t think anyone has given any thought to the problem of rush hour traffic and how we need to change our culture to rid ourselves of such a burden.
