Shell Recharge

November 9, 2017 by Alan Stainer

Shell Recharge

When an established fossil fuel company starts rolling out fast chargers for electric vehicles, you know there are big changes afoot.

It’s the price though. I know this is just a trial period for Shell at the moment and I really do hope they listen to customer feedback. I think when consumers compare the price they can charge at home with this, they will just charge at home, or the price needs to come down significantly.

colin adlam that’s to cover all current EV users without the users themselves having to worry about using any adapters. They only have to use one cable to do the charging.

At some point, it would be nice if there was a standard charging interface. That might be some way off though, especially if we start drawing comparisons with mobile phones.

Europe proposed the standard Type 2 connector and Tesla actually followed that standard despite using a different connector in the US. Other manufacturers couldn’t be arsed and rolled their own.

Todd Fully Recharged needs to make money as well and I don’t even mind. Take as much money as possible from the arrogant pricks! Suffice it to say I don’t think that Shell has any real ambition to be a green or electric energy delivery company. They are and always were in the business of burning dino juice.
