Additional or replacement recycle bin sizes

November 3, 2017 by Alan Stainer

Additional or replacement recycle bin sizes

On the Horsham District Council website you can apply for an additional or replacement recycle bin (the blue top one). The options given are either a 140 litre bin in addition to your current 240 litre bin, a 360 litre bin to replace your current bin, or a 55 litre sack to have in addition to your existing bin.

That is all well and good, but it doesn’t really explain how big the bins are. Will they fit through your gate? Have you got enough storage space for them?

So I asked Horsham District Council over on Twitter and they have kindly replied. Screenshot of the tweet below.

For those that haven’t heard about the changes that are coming, you can read about them and also apply for additional or larger bins here: https://www.horsham.gov.uk/bins/alternate-weekly-collections

We never signed up for the brown top bin collection when they decided to start charging for it. It still costs us the same as it always did to get rid of garden waste, unlike those that decided to pay and found the price rising…
