Dynamic Electric Vehicle Charging

November 1, 2017 by Alan Stainer

Dynamic Electric Vehicle Charging

This is really a proof of concept to show that the technology works, but that doesn’t make it any less impressive or important. Being able to drive an electric vehicle and charge it at the same time will completely rewrite how we think about driving and recharging.

It would be very helpful along those bus routes for example.

I’m not sold on the viability of this yet. The infrastructure cost is extremely high and of little value for daily commuter vehicles. Maybe for some long highways, but I would rather see travel between cities by high speed rail where a third rail design is more efficient.

Edwin Laarz yep, as I said it is a proof of concept to show the world that the technology works. It would be very expensive and impractical to convert all existing major roads in its current form.
