Autonomous vehicle technology is moving at an incredible rate
You’ll have to excuse the pun in the heading, but Derek Ross is right about the technology progressing rapidly.
Now obviously the video in the article has been edited to highlight all the really great things with the technology as it stands right now, but it is still really compelling evidence that the technology is pretty much here already. It just needs acceptance by the general public and of course government regulators.

it is a wonderfully rapid development we are seeing for sure. But I would want it to happen even quicker and on a much larger society changing scale, but the best part, it will soon happen of course so a little patience is ok :)

Absolutely Alan, but I have to admit to always wrapping the near future of autonomous and electric vehicles into one and the same. So from my world view society will soonish be autonomous and electric as far as personal and communal, and commercial vehicles go.
