Google to be powered by 100% renewable energy this year

Okay, this story was published early in December 2016, but I thought it was relevant to highlight (thanks to a little reminder by Solarcentury over on Twitter) that it is this year!

How about we make 2017 the year of good news, eh?

Way to go Google. All of our infrastructure & Power generation should be moving towards renewable energy. We caused this & strangely, We are the only ones that have any hope of repairing our world.

So now it is cheaper to advertise through Google? What is the end result, more for the investors?

Do you think Climate Change doesn’t matter? Think again! Google knows better and will be front and center. Watch the line growing day-by-day! Yes! Renewable will be unstoppable!

This is Good News ! What ever you think of Google they exist and have massive soft power. It’s less worse they are doing this than not.

It isn’t just Google that can make a stand either. It’s relatively easy for small businesses to switch to green energy providers, similarly for domestic users as well.

Traditional energy companies will take notice if they start losing revenue to the likes of Ecotricity, etc.

Alan Stainer A ton of coal, barrel of oil or cubic foot of gas lasts for a matter of minutes or hours. A solar panel lasts for decades. When Utilities wake up to the difference between tactical and strategic cost, the shift will accelerate, if they want to continue metering power to the consumer.
