Google Drive for Linux
Okay, I am sick of seeing this message. It has been the same message for years. There are countless threads on the product forums asking for a Google Drive client for Linux, but no official responses from anyone at Google. Responses from TCs are fine to a point, but it’s not the same as getting an official reply.
People want to know. Normal people and G Suite users (yes, I am one of those) who pay to use your services.
So come on Google, are you going to keep leaving us Linux users in the dark and alienate a large number of people, or are you actually going to produce something? It really shouldn’t take this long to produce a Linux client. At least give us some answers.

Edit: I know there are alternatives out there that sync with Google Drive, but this post is not about them. This is just about Google (emphasis on Google) Drive. Also, here is one of many threads calling for an official Google Drive client for Linux. I’m quite surpised at how slow Google have been in providing integrated desktop support for the Google drive. Ok, I use their web interface just fine, but integration means any Linux based program can then use it as a standard filesystem drive, rather than having to save it somewhere and then copy it across manually.
Pick up the pace Google, windows is dying, embrace the future or become a fossil.

Justin Goldsmith it’s the words “Stay tuned” that really grate on my nerves. It implies something is coming, but it never does. Not a single word about progress or any indication of timescale. It also shows a severe lack of respect towards Google’s customers who (like us) are finding things a bit hard to swallow after all this time left in limbo, waiting.

I can’t recall where I read it, but I’m sure I read Google released a beta version then quickly pulled it, with no sight or sound since. I’m guessing it was written during this time, but for whatever reason, it’s not being worked on.

Francis Anderson I remember something similar. Also Google apparently use their own version of Ubuntu (Goobuntu I think it’s called) and you would expect them to have a client for their own employees wouldn’t you?
