Leaked NASA paper shows the ‘impossible’ EM Drive really does work

It still needs a lot more research to find out exactly what is happening to create the thrust. If everything goes well though, this will revolutionise our ability to travel in space.

Where “does work” means 1.2 mN/kW.

One fiftieth of that of a Hall thruster.

Chris Blackmore or 200 times what’s possible with the other drive working without onboard propellant, depending on how you’re looking at it.

Let’s wait for an actual, peer-reviewed paper to appear – but from just the numbers, it doesn’t look that bad. ;)

The difference being, you don’t need to carry around all of that heavy rocket fuel.

John Baez I admit I can’t tell the difference between this and computer generated articles, but it seems to indicate it’s built on DeBroglie-Bohmian principles?

All my BS detectors are in the red here, but I just don’t have the skillset to verify…

    Specifically on p.29 : https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7kgKijo-p0ibm94VUY0TVktQlU/view

Well, 1.2 mN is not much force, and a kW is quite a lot of power. Let’s just say, if you hang that on the back of Red Dwarf, you’re not going to notice the difference, apart from the kettle not boiling so fast. I’ve forgotten what the leaked paper said the margin of error was as well.
