What this battery does is convert excess solar energy into heat and stores it for later use. So you could heat your water, or even connect it up to your central heating system. It scales too, so could be used for larger buildings with much bigger energy needs.

    Bob Spencer it stores the heat energy with very little loss due to the insulation that is used. So you should be okay to use it in the evenings as well. They mention in the video that it has given them 75% of their hot water throughout the year. I imagine the other 25% is partly accounted for by early morning usage when the household are getting washed, etc.
