Being ICE’d
I put this up there with able bodied people parking in disabled access spaces, or childless people parking in parent and child bays.
Yep, parking an internal combustion engine vehicle in a charging spot is a big fat idiot thing to do. I don’t even have an electric car myself (can’t afford one yet), but I would never park in a bay reserved for electric cars unless I had one. It’s just not the thing to do.

Agree my husband has handicap plates and I get so mad at people who don’t or even one of those blue hanging things, that park in a handicap spot, very not cool we even had a guy come up to our car, asking me if I was handicap I said none of your damn business, I have plates can’t you see I don’t have to share my personal business, I am legal to park here are you. He walked away, but yet a car without anything was parked next to us and he didn’t say nothing to them, upset me very much, obviously if I have a state authorized plate I’m handicap. People need to quit being Jerks and seriously mind own business and or be polite not the other way and snoopy

Hopefully, you, if not also handicapped, do not abuse the handicap parking when your husband is not with you. As a retired military veteran, it still annoys me that some dependents continue to assume the privileges of their sponsor’s rank with regard to reserved parking and other base perks. Handicap parking is for the handicapped who earned it.

Alan, I respectfully contend that you probably can afford an EV (possibly not a Tesla), if you look at total vehicle purchase price plus operating cost. My Nissan Leaf is 1/10th the operating cost of my wife’s Altima Hybrid. As a result, I spend roughly $1700 less per year with each car averaging the same 12K driving miles. My Leaf will outlast her Altima. The issue is your normal daily driving range and the availability of charging stations in your area.

Mac Baird we had to replace two cars on a limited budget. Technically, we could have afforded the Leaf, but only if we wanted to get a single car.

Price is coming down. The MSRP of my 2012 was $34,500. The current year MSRP is $29,000.

The future is most definitely looking bright in that regard Mac Baird
