A moment of tranquillity
What I like about where I live, is that a simple walk to the local shops can turn up little gems like this. Sadly the presence of rubbish in the river mars what would otherwise be a perfect escape from civilisation (if only for a few minutes).
It is still hard to believe that I was only a few feet away from houses and the like. I wish more walks in urban areas were like this.
Pan Aveyard says
Sadly, the closer you are to civilisation, the more litter you’ll find :(
Alan Stainer says
Especially sad when there are bins dotted around all over the place. It takes hardly any effort at all to keep hold of something until you come across a bin.
Pan Aveyard says
Alan Stainer They’re not brought up as well as we were.
Alan Stainer says
The good news is, I am teaching my kids not to be litter bugs. I just hope they are paying attention!
Hugh McVea says
Alan Stainer beautiful. Can you imagine how beautiful the Earth would be without humans.
Alan Stainer says

Hugh McVea says
Alan Stainer that’s a golden oldie LOL.
Daise Flowers says
Give the local Scouts a challenge in restoring and cleaning-up this beautiful stream environment.
Alan Stainer says
Daise Flowers interesting fact about Storrington, David Sedaris (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Sedaris) lives within walking distance and is often seen walking the streets picking up litter. More people need to follow his lead.
Daise Flowers says
Alan Stainer “Pig pen” nicknamed and rubbish truck named the same! haha; an interesting and wonderful person, which we’re lucky to have among us!
Alan Stainer says
We are lucky and I have seen the truck they named after him on the roads too. :)
Tom Woodland says
Is this the river that goes through Storrington?
Alan Stainer says
Yep. That’s the one Tom Woodland
