A new Skype client for Linux
Since Microsoft acquired Skype the Linux version of the software has been rather neglected. However, it looks like there may be light at the end of the tunnel.
That’s if you bother using Skype of course.

Interesting, coming not long after the html version enabling Chromebooks to finally use Skype (of course, when Android comes to Chromebook, it was a done deal anyway).
The Linux version has been awfully neglected, quite a sea change in Microsoft, and probably one of the few changes I’d say was positive forward thinking, quite novel for a company that tends to think “how can we crush everything except our own vision”.

Francis Anderson Microsoft is a company of many parts. Often it finds itself at odds with itself. So there may well be hope for the future.
