Twitter and its declining engagement
Now this is an interesting article for two reasons.
1. It gives a real world example of engagement going down on Twitter and the affects of that on a well known brand.
2. This paragraph is very interesting.
“Last night I discussed this subject with someone who had just spoken to some higher-ups at Twitter. He had also expressed his concerns, and relayed their semi-official reply to me. They argued that they were happy being number three, behind Google and runner-up Facebook. And that’s fine with them.”
Everyone in the media talks about Facebook and Twitter being the go to social networks. Google+ hardly gets a mention, except for those annoying (and untrue) ghost town stories.
Well, it looks like the high ups at Twitter feel differently and even talk about Facebook being a runner up!
Now obviously this is an unnamed source and needs to be taken with a pinch of salt. It would be nice to get an official response from Twitter though. Eh The Next Web?
