While I was driving it home from my parent’s place (that’s where I took the pictures), I turned off Eco mode. All I can say is, wow! What a difference it makes. I only did it very briefly, but I should think the car is firmly in the fun zone with Eco mode turned off.
I’ve had one for a while, and I love it. As you say out of Eco mode it is a really zippy little car, and a lot of fun to drive. I essentially never use Eco mode, now. It’s just a nifty little vehicle, very well designed for the around town usage pattern.
However, it’s not a complete replacement for a regular auto. My wife and I own 2 cars between us, and we use the Leaf almost all the time, but when we need to go further we use the other one.
We have a 2012 Leaf that I use to commute to work, and we both use on the weekends around town. Longer trips require a charging station at the destination for the return home. I have noticed that we lose about 2% capacity per year, but we still average 5.2 miles/kWh (10 cents). We have never had a reason to use anything other than Eco Mode. Just crossed over 50,000 miles and a new set of tires around 40,000 miles.
Cool. Let us know how you get on. I’ve been wondering about them.
Will do Matthew Lambley. The other thing I meant to add, is the boot is nice and big for the size of the car.

What’s a boot in relation to the car?!? I don’t see it wearing any…
I haven’t tried that yet Graham Wilson I will update you when I have.
Ray Marx oh someone had to mention it. Boot = Trunk
Graham Wilson the back seats fold down, but don’t sink. There is still plenty of room though.
