Alternatives to Windows 10 and more
Incredibly this is my first ever Hangout On Air. I am amazed at how relaxed I look.
Anyway, the HOA was hosted by Donna Beckett for the UK Connect community, together with myself and Dave Webster. Anyone with an interest may find it useful.
In the video I mentioned installing Ubuntu onto an old machine, but forgot to mention that in order to try it you don’t even need to do that. The Ubuntu Live DVD (or USB stick) let’s you try it without installing anything, it just runs in memory. If you want to give it a go, you can find the download here. http://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop
Another option is to try ChromeOS, thankfully you don’t need to invest in a brand new Chromebook to do that either, as a company called Neverware have created their own spin called CloudReady. You can find that here. http://www.neverware.com/
