How Tesla Will Change The World
I have to agree with Jason Mayes, this is really well written and so very informative. It’s a must read if you have a bit of time to spare.
The only thing it doesn’t mention specifically, is the energy cost in refining oil to be used as fuel in cars. It’s massive.

Tesla vehicles run Linux.
Alan Stainer says
Thank goodness they don’t run Windows. Imagine if that accursed Get Windows 10 popup appeared! ;)
Julian Bond says
Phillip Beynon Can you imagine a Beowulf cluster of these?
Phillip Beynon says
Julian Bond Not necessary. Our modern cars have many digital modules networked by proprietary protocols. Ditch it and add a miniPC running a striped version of Linux and build your fuzzy logic engine by weighing inputs from various sensors.
What will blow your mind is when the HOV lane of the highway becomes connected wirelessly to every vehicle, allowing fleets of AVs to increase fuel and space efficiency by drafting one another.
