Ubuntu 16.04 LTS First Impressions
Okay, the upgrade went smoothly which is always good, but there are two things I am really liking so far with the limited amount of time I have had to mess around with it.
1. Moving the launcher to the bottom is very easy, and it frees up just a little bit more space horizontally. Also, as most screens these days are wide, it means you have a lot more room for those icons which used to get squished up while on the left hand side.
2. If you use Google Drive and have been waiting for an official desktop client for Linux, then Ubuntu 16.04 LTS goes some way to ease your pain. Just install the Gnome Control Centre and use it to link your Google account. All of a sudden you have desktop access to all your Google Drive files. Easy. What it doesn’t do is give you the sharing options from the desktop, but personally I can live with that.
However, I would still like a Google Drive client for Linux. #GoogleDriveForLinux

Another really cool thing I realised and sorted out just now. Using the Gnome Control Centre it is easy peasy to add additional Google accounts to one user profile in Ubuntu. So, if like me you use Google Drive with more than one account, you can now access both from your desktop at the same time. I don’t think even the official Google Drive client can do that!
