Apple says sorry
Yes, Apple have said sorry for the error 53 hoohah and have released iOS update 9.2.1 to fix it. Now if you see error 53, you can restore your iPhone using iTunes on a PC or Mac.
Oh and if you had to get a new phone already, they will reimburse you.
