Do you know how it got in? Was it the cat that brought it in, or did it manage to get inside on its own? If the latter, you can expect to see it inside again. To really remove a mouse from your premises that knows how to get in, you have to take it at least a mile away or it will find its way back.
The cat brought it in, dropped it and then caught it again. I scruffed the cat until she dropped it a second time. Then it was a waiting game between me and the mouse.

Make sure you have a lid on that container…mice can jump 24″ or more pretty easily.
Alan Stainer says
There is a lid, although I had to take it off to film it.

You are too cool Alan!!!! I love that you did this…
Alan Stainer says
I just released it into the hedge out the back. Sad to see it go.
Think my cat might just have the grump with me now though.
UNKUHNOODLES says
…And you have a cat… coolest dude…right on Bro!!!!
Alan Stainer says
Two cats in fact UNKUHNOODLES. Thankfully only one of them is any good at catching anything.

I am amazed the mouse was relatively unharmed.
