Energy efficiency – battery vs petrol

I have one thing to say. Robert Llewellyn can you come and do my lawn?

This comparison is quite an eye opener as to the efficiency of good old toxic fossil fuels compared with modern battery power.

    Internal combustion engines have a lot of overheads that cause them to lose efficiency where as electric motors cut straight to the chase. This article highlights 2 things even though I don’t think mentioned 1. The first is the advancements in lithium ion batteries. The second and more important is that mower uses a brushless electric motor. There is a world of difference between brushed and brushless motors.
