Does your business really need its own website?
Some businesses seem to rely on a Facebook page as their only web presence, others don’t even do that and are just not on the internet at all.
Here are some reasons why they really should have their own website.

No, many small local businesses can survive without a website and continue to thrive with just a Facebook page.

Aren’t they missing out on potential custom by not utilising their own website? Most searches are done using (obviously) search engines and I cannot remember the last time (if ever) that a Facebook page was returned in search results.

Something I didn’t mention in my column, is the quickly disappearing post reach of brand pages on Facebook. In some cases only 2% of a page’s followers actually see their posts and of those 2% only some will actually engage with the post. The problem is compounded if you have paid Facebook (the official way) or a third party (the unofficial way) for likes.
