“The problem with authentication is that 5.4 broke our requests to Google, causing far too many of them to happen. We’re waiting for everyone on 5.4 to update to 5.4.1 to get a more normal usage of our API key so the plugin will get back to working order. It’s honestly not something we can fix on our end at this point.”
Hi Alan Stainer , I was just wondering if you ever got it working – I’m having the same issue, though other (GA) plugins I tried seem to work just fine. Cheers!

Thanks Alan Stainer

Alan Stainer I’m not sure this is anything new because I have always manually entered the GA code for tracking with this plugin.
It most likely fails to pick it up automatically because I have multiple ones therefore it is unable to tell which I am trying to use.
Yoast is having issues at the moment too so I cant see anything that may have been said over there.
Overall though, the plugin does exactly what it should and grabs the stats for looking at in GA. It’s on of my ‘must haves’

It didn’t even work when I added in the UA tracking code manually Ian Dixon

Quick update to say this is working again for me now. If anyone else has had a problem, try it now and see.
Edit: I spoke too soon! Still broken.

In the end I managed to get it working using the UA code.
