    Me! I like Google apps, but I can’t be without excel. The 2 million cell limit doesn’t even come close for me.

    Mat Bennett if you are using that many cells, I suggest using a database instead!

    I’ll load it into mysql if I’m doing anything intensive with it. The joy of excel though is that I don’t need to. I’ll often use excel to quickly tidy the data, remove unwanted fields or run some string functions before loading into a database. Quicker that way.

    Likewise sometimes you just want to pull out a few rows quickly.

    2 million cells isn’t actually much, particularly if the data has a few dozen fields.
